Mike Magness
I trained at MacPhail in Minneapolis offered through the University of Minnesota. We learned to tune, repair, analyze pianos for repair and we also re-strung and regulated a Steinway grand piano for the MacPhail school.
Our instructor was a Piano Technician Guild Registered Piano Technician and was the technician for the Minnesota/Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra.
When I completed that course I returned to the Lacrosse area where I was mentored by several technicians from the area Paul Wuske was chief among them, Dick Erickson, Chuck Anderson, Tom Kinney and others.
I am a Certified Field Expert in Humidity Control as awarded by Dampp-Chaser and have been for nearly 20 years.
I am an active associate member of the Piano Technician’s Guild.
I have been the chief technician for a Kimball dealer, Kawai dealer, Samick dealer & Wurlitzer dealer. I am also a consultant for other technicians around the area.
